Privacy Policy

Jennifer M. Allen (“I” or “me”) operates jennifermallen.com. This policy explains what information I collect through my author website and how I use it. If you have a privacy question, contact me.

Information you choose to share

Depending on how you use the site, you may provide:

  • Book launch interest: Your email address and, if requested, your name so I can send updates about the book’s release.
  • Newsletter signup: Your email address and, if requested, your name so I can send author news, book updates, and related content.
  • ARC application: Your name, email address, and the information requested on the application, such as reading preferences, preferred book format, location, or a link to a public review profile. If you are selected for a print advance reader copy, I may separately request a mailing address to send it.
  • Contact form: Your name, email address, and anything you include in your message.

You can choose whether to provide this information. If you do not provide the details a particular form requires, I may be unable to fulfill that request.

How I use your information

I use your information to send the updates you requested, respond to messages, review ARC applications, communicate with selected ARC readers, and deliver advance copies. I may also use information necessary to operate and protect the website.

Each email choice is separate. Signing up for launch updates does not automatically subscribe you to the newsletter. Applying for an ARC does not automatically subscribe you to either email list. If I offer an optional newsletter signup within another form, I will identify it separately.

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in an email or by contacting me. If you unsubscribe, I may retain the minimum information needed to honor that request.

Website and email service information

My website host and the services that operate my forms and emails may process technical information, such as an IP address, browser type, pages visited, and submission or delivery times. This information helps the site and email services function, remain secure, and report basic performance.

If I add optional analytics, advertising pixels, or other tracking tools, I will update this policy and provide any choices required by applicable law.

When information is shared

I share information with service providers only as needed to run the website, process forms, manage email, or deliver an ARC. A postal or delivery provider may receive a selected reader’s shipping details if I send a print copy. I may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the site and its users.

I do not sell the personal information submitted through these forms. Links to Amazon, social media, or other websites lead to services with their own privacy practices.

How long I keep information

I keep launch and newsletter signup information until you unsubscribe or I discontinue the relevant list. I keep ARC applications for up to 12 months after the associated book launch, unless you separately agree to be considered for a future ARC opportunity. If I collect a shipping address for a print ARC, I delete it within 90 days after fulfillment, unless a longer period is needed to resolve a delivery issue or comply with law. I keep contact messages only as long as needed to respond and maintain relevant records.

Your choices and rights

You may ask me to access, correct, or delete the personal information you provided by emailing [privacy email address]. You may also withdraw consent for marketing emails at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights, including the right to object to certain uses of your information or complain to a privacy regulator. I will respond in accordance with applicable law.

I am based in the United States. If you visit from another country, your information may be processed in the United States or in countries where my service providers operate.

Children

This site and its signup forms are not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal information, please contact me so I can address it.

Security and changes

I use reasonable measures and reputable service providers to protect the information submitted through the site. No online service can guarantee absolute security. I may update this policy as the website and its features change; the effective date above will show when it was last revised.
